Zarlor flânerie l'appel de la forêt

The highland forest on the leeward side is the island's main natural Tamarind plantation. There are remarkable specimens here which are over a hundred years old. This vast area extends for more than 8200 ha from 150 to 2900 m in altitude. It enjoys an original climate that combines freshness, high cloud cover and low rainfall. It’s home to the complete biological reserve of Bois Nèfles and Bois de Sans Soucis, one of the last vestiges of the native mountain forest of the Western Highlands.
