This traditional dwelling was once owned by the famous musician from Reunion Island, Jules Joron, and many artists have passed through this still very authentic place. The Créole-style garden with native plant species, aviary and ancient well, with the addition of a beautiful swimming pool facing a bar, decorated with taste and simplicity in mind.

There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere at La Kazkifo and the hosts strive to produce this ambiance throughout the estate. Guests will find themselves easily adopting the Créole way of life here. This “Créole touch”, according to Yannick, is shown in the authenticity of the place and the customer service which was awarded the Prix Fonker 2019 (award given by the Fédération Réunionnaise du Tourisme), for the category “Welcome”.

Yannick is a chef and prepares delicious dishes using fresh fish and local products. Meals shared around the table as a family, with the main ingredient being this infamous welcoming spirit. A stay at La Kazkifo is a real experience of Reunion Island culture and will be filled with some excellent surprises.

La Kazkifo guest house is in an urban environment, with an exceptional location. As soon as guests enter the property, they will be confronted with magnificent stalls of fruit and vegetables and freshly caught fish. Saint-Pierre harbour is just 200 metres away and the town centre with all the shops and amenities only a 5-minute walk away.

A walk around the typical Terre Sainte district, a visit of the heritage sites of the capital of the South or a trip to the beach, sheltered from the coral reef. Guests are spoilt for choice. For longer excursions, Le Kazkifo is the perfect base camp for exploring the iconic Piton de la Fournaise, the protected Wild South Coast or the outstanding Cirque of Cilaos.
